Custom Orders
Due to the labor intensive nature of this work, there is a minimum budget of $850 for custom commissions.
Once design, stones and materials have been agreed a 50% deposit is required to book and reserve a commission in the Blue Lotus Designs production schedule.
Custom commissions come with a design consultation and renderings.
The typical lead time is 10 weeks.
Large scale and more intricate commissions take longer.

Using your stones in your Custom Order
Blue Lotus Designs understand the sentimental and personal value of your gemstones, and we treat every piece entrusted to us with the utmost care and professionalism.
While we take every precaution to handle your stones safely, natural gemstones can carry hidden flaws or weaknesses that are not visible on inspection. Because we cannot know the full history or condition of each stone, we cannot accept responsibility for any damage that may occur during setting, resetting, or repair.
Our commitment is to treat your stones with respect and skill, but by entrusting us with them, you acknowledge the inherent risks involved in working with natural materials.
If your gemstones hold significant financial or sentimental value, we encourage you to speak with your insurer about extending your policy to cover them while they are in our care. This ensures peace of mind and protection for your treasured pieces throughout the design or repair process.

Valuation Certificates
A valuation certificate is a document that provides a detailed description and a value judgement of a jewellery item.
The value is a judgement based on current market conditions. The different markets the valuation is prepared in reference to can vary significantly and this is taken into account when the valuation is produced.
There is no legal obligation for a jeweller to give you a valuation certificate when you buy an item. However, if you would like a valuation, Blue Lotus Designs can provide one. We charge a fee to cover the cost of producing the valuation certificate.
It is important to know that jewellery valuations do need updating. It is therefore recommended that items of jewellery be valued approximately every two years.
